Evidence finding
BT has been named a Leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Global WAN Services (formerly 'Magic Quadrant for Network Services, Global') for 20 consecutive years as of the 2024 report, and again in the 2026 report. In the 2024 edition, BT was placed furthest for 'Completeness of Vision'. This particular Magic Quadrant evaluates telecom and MSP network service providers, BT, AT&T, NTT, Orange Business, Tata, Verizon, Vodafone, Colt and GTT among them, which is a genuinely different evaluation to Gartner's separate MQ for SD-WAN itself, that one covers underlying technology vendors like Fortinet, Cisco, VMware/Broadcom, HPE, Palo Alto and Versa, and doesn't include BT at all. BT also points to a Leader position in IDC's MarketScape for Worldwide Managed Security Services, a related but distinct market from SD-WAN and managed network services specifically. In our view, buyers should read the WAN Services recognition as the more directly relevant one for an SD-WAN or SASE procurement, since it's evaluating BT itself rather than the technology sitting underneath its service.
