BT evidence record 2.6

Global reach / multi-country delivery capability (PoPs, local loop access, in-country compliance)

What BT Specifically Provides (The 'On Top' Layer) | Confirmed | Last verified 2026-08-30

Evidence finding

Global reach for BT runs mainly through Global Fabric, which reached general availability in February 2025 with 45 live cloud data centre locations. The stated target is 140. BT has also flagged a longer term ambition to reach 700 data centres worldwide with high bandwidth links. A different number altogether is the Google Cloud WAN interconnect, launched in April 2025, giving access to 50 of the world's leading cloud locations now and 70 by 2026. These two figures cover different things and shouldn't be read as the same metric. Prospects with workloads sitting outside the current 45 location footprint need direct confirmation of regional coverage, since BT still has a long way to go before hitting its 140 location goal.
