BT evidence record 7.6

Government/Public Sector (G-Cloud, PSN, security clearance requirements, BT's incumbent public sector position)

Sector Fit Analysis | Confirmed | Last verified 2026-08-24

Evidence finding

CONFIRMED - strong, detailed, named public-sector proof point (not SD-WAN/SASE-specific, but directly relevant to public-sector sector fit). Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service case study (9 May 2025): BT (with EE) upgraded the Service's 999 call mobilisation system - incoming calls route via BTnet to the Integrated Command and Control System (ICCS); once a fire engine is dispatched, incident data transmits over an EE 4G network to a Mobile Data Terminal in the vehicle for two-way updates, status messages and live vehicle tracking. Includes automatic failover routing calls to Essex/Bedfordshire fire services, then Durham/Darlington in a regional-scale outage. BT provided a dedicated Fire and Rescue specialist team alongside standard networking/voice/security account teams. Result stated as reduced call handling times. Named quotes from Sian Penny (BT Director of Public Safety and Justice), Callum Faint (Chief Fire Officer), Meg Burns (BT Account Manager for Policing and Fire and Rescue), and Roger Smith (Area Manager, Business Support). BT states 'a century-long history of supporting emergency services'. Also confirms a further named case study exists: 'Cumbria Police Case Study: 4G/5G Connectivity & Mobile Data' (12 August 2025) - not yet individually verified in this pass. This supplements (does not replace) the earlier-confirmed Northern Ireland Public Sector Shared Network (PSSN) government partnership evidence at 7.6/11.3.
