Which VoIP reseller programme should you choose?
Before choosing a programme, you’ll need to decide who will bill your customers and deal with their support requests. This will help you narrow down your options.
Adding BT hosted voice to your services
If you’re an IT company, MSP or telecoms reseller looking to add BT hosted voice, we’d recommend considering reselling BT Business through Netify. BT holds the customer contract, sends the bills and provides service support, whilst Netify helps with onboarding, quoting and deal registration.
Building your own telecoms brand
If you want to set your own retail prices and invoice customers under your own brand, a white-label or wholesale programme is likely to be a better fit. You’ll need to check which billing, credit and first-line support responsibilities you would take on.
Netify publishes no joining fee, minimum spend or sales target. For BT Cloud Voice, upfront commissions are based on sales order value. Rates, qualifying orders and payment conditions need to be confirmed in writing before you commit. See Netify’s programme terms ↗

The Short Answer to Becoming a VoIP Reseller
Entering the UK cloud voice and VoIP resale market requires choosing an operating route that matches your business capabilities. You can enter the market through:
01
Provider-billed partner programmes
(such as Netify’s authorised partner route for BT Business cloud voice and connectivity), where you manage the sales relationship whilst the provider (BT in this instance) handles core billing, network infrastructure, and primary support.
02
White-label wholesale arrangements
(such as solutions via providers like VoiceHost or Packnet), where you retain brand ownership, set your own retail pricing, and invoice customers directly under your own name.
03
Software and platform models
(such as 3CX or Yeastar system integration), where you source software licenses, SIP trunks, and hardware independently to build a custom stack.
04
Hardware distribution channels
- Distributors such as ProVu and VoIPon provide channels that encompass hardware distribution alongside value-added services.
Depending on the distributor, these solutions may include hardware provisioning, device management, remote installation, software licensing (such as 3CX), and hosted VoIP options, rather than hardware distribution alone.
At Netify, we know what prospective VoIP resellers need from a programme - we’ve been a BT authorised partner since 2012 (and more recently a Virgin Media O2 Business partner), helping businesses grow as resellers for BT products and supporting BT Business customers.
In this guide, we’ll cover the different ways of becoming a VoIP reseller, the different reseller programmes (and vendor offerings) on the market and potential considerations you should take into account.
Your commercial model
Find your route.
Sell the service. Keep operations lighter.
Start with provider-billed dealer and agency routes. Confirm who supports the customer, how commission is calculated and when it is paid. Netify’s BT route is one option; other programmes offer dealer or agency tracks too.
A starting point for your shortlist. Programme approval and terms remain provider-specific.
01 / The guide
Choose Your Commercial Model
Before you can get started reselling, or even choosing a supplier for that matter, you’ll need to evaluate what your business can effectively offer to customers and what the operational and financial responsibilities of each supplier’s commercial structure is.
Given that each supplier offers different terms and responsibility-shares, you’ll often find that evaluating what you can offer your customers will narrow down choice of partner programme.
Key Questions Answered
Do you prefer a white-label brand of your own or a commission-based agent role?
Arguably the best way to differentiate between different vendor reseller programmes, by determining and choosing an agent role (such as standard referral or agency tracks) you can minimise financial risk and administrative overhead (as billing, tax collection, and network management remain with the carrier), or alternatively an own-brand wholesale or white-label approach maximises customer equity and control over retail margins, though requires you to absorb credit risk, handle customer complaints, and manage first-line support.
Are you planning to sell hosted cloud PBX software, SIP trunks, or physical office phones?
When reselling VoIP, each of hosted cloud PBX software, SIP trunks and physical office phones represent their own distinct revenue streams.
Hosted cloud PBX packages provide multi-site user licences and feature logic (like auto-attendants and mobile apps), SIP trunks deliver concurrent call capacity to existing on-premise PBX hardware and physical phones or ATAs fulfil the physical endpoints required on site.
Most comprehensive deployments combine software seats, active call paths and hardware endpoints.

How to interpret this comparison
This is a review of this guide’s entries, not a census of the market. Software, carrier and distributor routes can share underlying platforms. A public application route does not guarantee acceptance. Mitel’s specific UK track still needs confirmation; mobile and connectivity-only entries are identified separately.

This is a BT-branded, provider-billed route, not a white-label platform. It does not provide your own branded customer invoice or full retail pricing control.
Commercial conditions
Netify programme clarification
Netify publishes no joining fee, minimum spend or sales target. Application, approval and onboarding precede selling. For BT Cloud Voice, upfront commissions are based on sales order value.
The rate, qualifying orders, payment milestones and conditions must be confirmed in writing; other products may differ.
O2 offers their All Blue direct-partner programme, whilst Daisy Partner Business operates its own independent channel. Partner agreements, support models, and commercial terms vary between both.
Product Scope:
Daisy Partner Business offers a comprehensive channel route spanning mobile, connectivity, and hosted communications, featuring published suppliers including O2 and Vodafone for mobile, Daisy Hosted Voice on Gamma, and 8x8 for hosted voice and contact-centre opportunities.
Support Model:
Contracting, branding, billing, and support responsibilities should be checked for each proposition rather than inferred from the wider O2 Daisy corporate relationship.
Application & Fit:
Ideal for hybrid IT providers and mobile-first specialists wanting to converge cellular infrastructure with cloud voice solutions, provided terms are verified independently for each proposition.
Virgin Media Business and VMO2 Wholesale
Contracting & Billing:
Wholesale agreements contracted directly through VMO2 wholesale.
Product Scope:
Virgin Media O2’s wholesale offerings are primarily around connectivity rather than a standalone white-label hosted VoIP PBX, however when these are sold in conjunction with white-label VoIP products, VMO2’s networking capabilities can significantly improve offerings.
Support Model:
Dedicated carrier-grade fault resolution teams. Target availability and SLAs vary across the wholesale portfolio.
Application & Fit:
Built to serve communications providers, managed service providers (MSPs), and systems integrators, accommodating deployment sizes ranging from a few individual circuits to large-scale network aggregation projects.

04
Collaboration & Apps
Mobile and desktop applications, CRM integration and screen-pop functionality where supported by the selected product.

High-capacity concurrent channels, number porting support, Session Border Controller (SBC) compatibility, and Analogue Telephone Adapters (ATAs) for legacy equipment.
06
Hardware & Endpoints

Evaluating the economics of each programme
Depending on the reseller model you choose, you’ll get access to different earning potential.
Agent / Commission Model:
Earnings are calculated as an agreed percentage or fixed amount of the qualifying contract value (either upfront or spread across recurring terms).
We always recommend that you verify whether commissions trigger upon order sign-off, live service activation, or initial invoice payment to find out when exact payments are made.
Whitelabel / Wholesale Model:
With wholesale and white-label routes, you buy services at an agreed rate and set your own retail prices and branding.
The difference is gross margin, not net profit: billing, payment processing, support, fraud, bad debt and customer acquisition all affect the outcome. Entry costs and commitments vary by provider; neither higher net profit nor a large pre-existing customer base should be assumed.
06 / The guide
Matching a Programme to Your Business
MSP with an existing client base but no internal voice desk
Recommended Route: Provider-billed partner programmes (such as BT via Netify).
We’d recommend this path to smaller resellers or where VoIP is not your primary business offering, allowing you to upsell cloud telephony and secure connectivity alongside your current offerings, and without absorbing Tier-1 network troubleshooting or billing compliance burdens.
Startup building an independent telecommunications brand
Recommended Route: Either provider-billed partner programmes (such as BT via Netify) for selling established provider-branded services, or white-label platforms (such as Yay.com or The VoIP Shop) for building your own telecommunications brand.
White-label arrangements can give you retail pricing, branded invoicing and customer-management tools. The exact branding, contractual control, support duties and commitments depend on the agreement; higher net profit is not guaranteed.
Traditional PBX installer maintaining legacy infrastructure
Recommended Route: SIP trunking and software platform distributors (such as 3CX or Voiceflex integration routes).
Enables you to migrate legacy customer PBX hardware to modern IP networks whilst still retaining familiar on-premise installations.

We’d recommend the Netify Reseller Programme for IT companies, MSPs, telecom providers, connectivity partners and telemarketing agencies who are looking to add hosted VoIP to a reseller portfolio.
As a BT Authorised Partner since 2012, we recruit Authorised Resellers of BT across the likes of BT Cloud Voice Express, BT Cloud Voice and BT Teams Voice.
In this, BT designs, delivers and operates the service and you act as a dealer earning commission.
BT Cloud Voice
BT Cloud Voice is BT’s cloud hosted business phone system, priced per user per month across three feature packs with a call plan charged separately.
BT Cloud Voice Express
Cloud Voice Express is a separate product rather than a cut-down tier of Cloud Voice. It is a digital phone service for smaller businesses, available with eligible BT Business broadband packages.
BT currently describes support for up to four phone numbers across four business locations; confirm the exact line, site and package configuration before quoting. Existing numbers may be retained through an eligible transfer, subject to availability and porting checks.
Self-install equipment, the CVE app and call plans depend on the package. Where a site needs more complex call handling or Webex features, assess full Cloud Voice against the actual requirements.
BT Teams Voice
BT Teams Voice adds PSTN calling to Microsoft Teams. Check the customer’s eligible Microsoft 365 and Teams licences, Teams Phone entitlement and BT calling service together.
Existing subscriptions, bundled entitlements and the chosen deployment determine which additional licences are required; there is no universal three-subscription rule.
Resellers can position Teams Phone and BT Teams Voice for customers already using Microsoft 365, after checking their current licences and calling requirements.
BTnet with Cloud Voice (as a cross-sell opportunity)
The natural attach for voice deals is connectivity, and the two can be considered together. Assess the customer’s broadband or BTnet leased-line capacity, resilience and voice requirements as one conversation.
Confirm the supported access service, billing arrangement, current connection charges and any promotional waiver in the written quote. Eligible connectivity and voice sales can each earn commission under their applicable programme terms.
Why Netify?
BT Wholesale publishes a route for businesses to become wholesale customers, with product-specific trading, credit and commitment requirements to confirm. The public material reviewed does not establish a universal £1m annual minimum.
The Netify BT Reseller Programme provides an alternative dealer route for eligible BT Hosted VoIP, BT SD-WAN, BT SASE, BT Business Broadband and BTnet Leased Lines, with no minimum spend and no sales targets under the Netify programme.
For BT Cloud Voice, upfront commissions are based on sales order value. Rates, qualifying orders and payment conditions are confirmed in writing; other products may have different schedules.

Metrics and Measurement
When getting into reselling VoIP, we’d recommend considering the following metrics and how they may affect your offerings or outcomes for customers:
Revenue per customer per month
- the average monthly revenue you earn from each customer across your reseller portfolio.
Customer acquisition cost
- how much you spend to win each new VoIP customer including marketing, sales time and onboarding.
Customer churn rate
- the percentage of customers who leave each month or year. High churn may indicate platform issues or poor support.
Margin per product line
- your margin separately for hosted voice, SIP trunks and any add-on services.
Number porting success rate
- if you port numbers regularly, measure the percentage that complete without issues.
Support ticket volume
- how many support requests you receive per customer per month. This indicates platform quality and customer satisfaction.

Common Pitfalls
Regardless of which reseller programme you opt for, we recommend checking the following potential pitfalls before committing.
Assuming all reseller programmes are the same.
Wholesale and commission models differ significantly in how you bill customers and manage margins. Clarify the model before signing.
Ignoring billing platform requirements.
Some providers do not include a billing system. If you choose a wholesale model without built-in billing, you will need a third-party billing platform, which adds cost and complexity.
Overlooking contract lock-in.
Some programmes require 12-to-36-month contracts. If you are new to reselling, a monthly rolling contract reduces risk.
Not checking number porting support.
If your customers need to keep their existing phone numbers, confirm the provider supports number porting before committing.
Choosing on price alone.
Margin is important but so are platform reliability, support quality and the range of products you can sell. A low wholesale price means little if the platform is unreliable.
Not verifying provider status.
Some providers listed in older directories may have changed their programmes or ceased trading. Always check the provider website directly.

Frequently Asked Questions
13 questions. Every answer is included in full.
What is a VoIP reseller?
A VoIP reseller is a business that sells voice over IP telephony services provided by another company. The reseller may brand the service under its own name (white-label) or sell it under the provider brand.
What is the difference between wholesale and commission VoIP reselling?
In wholesale, you buy the service at a reduced price and set your own retail price. You handle billing. In commission, the provider bills the customer and pays you a percentage or fixed fee per sale.
Do I need technical expertise to become a VoIP reseller?
It depends on the programme. Commission and referral programmes require little technical knowledge. Wholesale programmes may require you to provision services and provide first-line support.
What is a white-label VoIP service?
A white-label VoIP service is one where the provider branding is removed and replaced with your own. Your customers see your company name on the platform, invoices and communications.
How much can I earn as a VoIP reseller?
Margins vary by provider and model. Wholesale resellers typically set their own margins. Commission-based resellers earn a percentage of the deal value. Exact figures are not usually published and depend on the provider and volume.
What contract length should I expect?
Contract lengths and commitments depend on the product and agreement. NTA and VIP VoIP publish flexible or monthly rolling propositions. Confirm current terms for Xelion and every other shortlisted provider rather than assuming one term covers its entire portfolio.
Distinguish the partner agreement, platform subscription, end-customer service term and software licence renewal.
Is number porting supported?
Most providers listed on this page support number porting. This allows your customers to keep their existing phone numbers when switching to your VoIP service.
What is the Gamma Accelerate Partner Programme?
Gamma Accelerate is a tiered channel partner programme. Partners sell Gamma products including the Horizon hosted voice platform and SIP trunks at wholesale rates. Gamma provides training, marketing support and a partner portal.
How do I handle billing and collections?
If operating via an agency or referral model, the primary carrier manages all invoicing and payment collection.
Under white-label wholesale arrangements, resellers need a billing and collection arrangement, which may be supplied directly by the wholesale platform (such as built-in engines from platforms like The VoIP Shop), integrated via third-party software (such as Stripe, GoCardless, or through more-specialised telecom billing software), or operated independently.
What compliance and emergency service checks are needed?
Emergency-calling responsibilities and resilience mechanisms must be clearly established within the service delivery model.
Under Ofcom General Condition A3, communications providers must take all necessary measures to maintain uninterrupted access to emergency organisations.
Ofcom’s power-cut guidance sets expectations for suitable resilience solutions, including at least one solution enabling emergency access for a minimum of one hour and free provision for customers at risk because they depend on their landline.
Assess customer needs, emergency addresses, vulnerable users and the complete power-dependent call path. One hour is not a universal business-continuity guarantee. Resellers and underlying providers must establish their respective operational responsibilities; their agreement does not by itself transfer statutory obligations.
Can I supply mobile apps and remote working tools?
Eligible cloud voice packages, including BT Cloud Voice Express and supported Webex plans, provide mobile or desktop apps for making and receiving business calls. Features and supported devices vary by product and licence.
Teams Phone Mobile is a separate operator-integrated service using a SIM-enabled mobile number with Teams; it is not interchangeable with a standard VoIP softphone.
Can Netify help me become a Hosted VoIP Reseller?
Yes. Netify is an Authorised Partner of BT. Subject to programme approval and product eligibility, resellers can offer BT Cloud Voice Express, BT Cloud Voice and BT Teams Voice through the Netify route.
Available devices and integrations depend on the selected BT product. This does not independently confer a direct partnership or accreditation with Cisco, Yealink, Poly, Jabra or Microsoft.
How do I become a BT Hosted VoIP reseller?
Apply to the Netify BT Reseller Programme. Once approved and onboarded, the dealer model lets you sell the eligible BT Cloud Voice Express, BT Cloud Voice and BT Teams Voice products confirmed for your agreement without operating your own hosted-voice platform.
BT designs, delivers, bills and supports the service. Eligible sales, upgrades and re-signs earn commission. BT Cloud Voice upfront commissions are based on sales order value; other products may have different schedules.
Provider details added on 30 October 2026 use the official programme and product sources linked beside each point. Published descriptions do not verify acceptance, negotiated prices or private agreements. The engine uses the same research as the page and MCP tool. Older guide text retains its original review date.
Sources and methodology
A comparison you can check.
Programme evidence was reviewed on 28 October 2026 using the official sources linked in the comparison. We distinguish a public recruitment route from confirmed acceptance, and published facts from terms requiring an agreement. No provider application was submitted as part of this review.
Netify operates the BT reseller route and earns commission from qualifying sales. Inclusion is not an independent endorsement, performance ranking or guarantee of suitability. Suggested decision weights are an editorial framework, not measured supplier scores.
The programme-source review is dated 28 October 2026. Later editorial additions do not mean every provider was checked again on 29 October.
Provider-by-provider programme research
Added 120 sourced programme points across the 24 provider and group records, with published commercial conditions and specific questions to settle before joining. Each point links to its source. Cards now show practical details and open a full profile; the side-by-side comparison includes published terms. The MCP tool and browser share the same research. Updated filtering where current sources establish additional billing options, and limited the 8x8 UK assessment to the documented resale route rather than assuming its primarily North American agency track is available in the UK. Harry’s sections, provider records and extended profiles remain. Fourteen comparison fields were corrected or qualified against the linked sources, with each change recorded in the correction log.
Full provider directory and shared comparison engine
Made all 24 provider and group records accessible in the profile directory and added criteria filtering, side-by-side comparison, source links and a resumable comparison address. The browser and compare_voip_programmes MCP tool use the same evidence and rules. Harry’s original three extended profiles remain in full. Corrected the leftover equal-payment illustration to the approved upfront-commission wording. This interface update is not a new programme-source review.
Netify commission wording corrected
Robert Sturt confirmed that Netify offers upfront commissions based on sales order value. Removed the earlier 50/50 payment description from Netify’s profile and the two affected guide paragraphs. The written agreement confirms rates, qualifying orders and payment conditions. Other provider profiles remain unchanged.
Partner evidence and people links
Displayed Netify’s existing BT partner logo and trophy photograph in its profile, with the owner-confirmed Cloud Voice award category and financial year 2025/2026. Linked the BT website’s Netify testimonial and team biographies. Harry’s byline now links to his biography. The product page adds an illustrated application-to-service process; it is not a performance claim.
Harry’s guide retained
The guide keeps Harry Yelland’s sections, profiles, comparison rows and FAQs. Long answers are arranged into topics and expandable sections, with their full text available.
Factual and copy corrections
The publication review recorded corrections to provider names, current product and programme descriptions, billing and support responsibilities, and UK-route qualifications. Public recruitment is distinguished from confirmed acceptance; software and connectivity-only routes are identified separately. These corrections are recorded against the original source.
Netify’s own programme explained
Added Netify’s first-party explanation of fit, billing, support, branding and commercial conditions. The publisher disclosure identifies Netify’s programme and commission interest. These additions are separate from Harry’s original profiles and are not an independent ranking.
Uptel interview and results
Added a link to M K Alam’s approved interview and reported results: 56 completed BT Cloud Voice orders covering 146 licences between 1 January and 29 October 2026. The interview is edited for clarity. Figures are reseller-reported and have not been independently audited; the example order is illustrative.
Dated programme fact sheet
Added a shared fact sheet separating Netify’s published terms from questions requiring written confirmation. It covers responsibilities, branding, commission structure and entry conditions. Exact rates, payment triggers and cancellation terms still require written confirmation.
Cloud Voice user-count correction
The linked product guidance and fact sheet now state the three-user minimum for Netify’s reseller route, confirmed by Robert Sturt on 29 October 2026. A licence quantity on one order is distinguished from the total size of a customer’s system.
